Embark on a journey to the heart of Mongolia, where vast steppe landscapes meet rugged mountains and ancient traditions blend with the thrill of adventure.
From the bustling capital of Ulaanbaatar to the Altai Mountains and the Gobi Desert, our expertly crafted tour invites you to experience the magic of Mongolia in its purest form.
Local guides take us through some of the most famous areas of the country, and set up our bell tents camp under a blanket of stars. Immerse yourself in the nomadic culture that has defined this land for centuries, all while taking your paraglider along for the journey.
Join us for an unforgettable adventure that will leave you captivated by Mongolia's untamed beauty and rich heritage.

We will be traveling to multiple sites throughout the tour. Visiting Altai Suam where Kazakh women are
renowned for their skilled embroidery, and their homes are beautifully decorated with ornate tapestries on the walls, ceiling and floor, with each design unique to a particular
family.
We'll also visit Havtsgait Petroglyphs where hundreds of rock paintings by Gobi’s first dwellers were made. Discovered only in the mid 2000s, this site contains some very rare depictions of
Mongolia’s ancient culture and objects.
Getting around Mongolia is no easy task. We will have Toyota Land Cruisers to get around the country.
2-3 pilots will be in each Land Cruiser, allowing ample space.
4 domestic flights are also included in the trip cost. We will fly to the Altai mountains and to the Gobi desert to cut down driving time and allow for additional aerial views of the landscape.
While we aim to fly as much as possible, this tour is primarily focused on the incredible culture that Mongolia has to offer. Non flying activities include spending time with Dalaikhan learning about the daily lives of eagle hunters. Accompanying some of the hunters for a morning horse ride into the mountains in the Hoid Bardam Valley.
Visiting the Flaming Cliffs as we camel trek across the Gobi Desert. We will have the chance to visit the famous the Gurvan Saikhan Mountains, and stop to look for fossils and petroglyphs.
August has pleasant weather and stunning colorful landscapes, but come prepared for anything.
The temperature remains warm, ranging from:
Daytime: 25°C (77°F) to 38°C (100°F)
Nights: 8°C (46°F) to 20°C (68°F)
This time of year is usually quite dry, but still can produce rain showers in the afternoon.

On our flying days we will be using drive up locations as best as we can, but you can expect that there will be some hiking involved.
We aim to hike and fly for sunrise each morning for those who would like a workout with a beautiful view. Mongolia offers some of the most dynamic weather out there, and while we try to fly as much as possible we aim for early launch windows in the even conditions pick up.
Having a light weight kit with you is a great idea, or even bringing a second glider like an Ozone Ultralite 5 is a fantastica idea.
Most cell carrier networks will work in the country. Please check with your cell phone provider for the exact rates. Alternatively, you can choose to get a local SIM card if you prefer, which we will provide. Cell service can be spotty in the remote areas. We will provide a starlink for some limited internet access.

The currency used in Mongolia is the Tugrik
(MNT). It has been fairly steady at 3300-3500: 1USD for the last 2 years. We recommend pulling out no more than $500 USD for souvenirs and small purchases during your stay. This can be done at the airport or at and ATM in the capital.
All pilots are required to bring a 2M Radio.
We highly recommend having a Garmin Inreach on this tour as well.
We will be using a mix of hotels, gers or yurts, and bell tent camps.
Breakfast, lunch and dinner will be provided at all locations.
Please reach us at info@convergenceparagliding.com if you cannot find an answer to your question.
